Mission

The key creative directive from management is that all Cloudshine properties need to be entertaining and commercially viable with identified markets and marketing strategy. They need to be provocative and independent minded in that they should push the envelope beyond the standard Hollywood formula. However the properties should be the type that the studios, networks and cable outlets would find appealing to produce and/or distribute themselves.

Creatively, all projects will be high concept, but will appeal to a sophisticated audience. The projects will be entertaining, yet thought provoking and will deal with real human dilemmas. Many, but not all projects will be in the genre of speculative fiction including science fiction and melodrama. Other property types will include biographical, romantic, interpersonal relationship, and projects based on published fiction and nonfiction.

All properties will be responsible in their concept and message. No project will be considered that, in the opinion of management, contributes to the devaluation of our society's moral or political underpinnings (see the David Puttnam interview on this site for a backdrop to this issue).

The key business factors involved in the selection and development of properties will be market potential, and risk/reward ratio potential.
